I remember a public information film terrifying the life out of me when I was young.

It had a woman with a bag of shopping and a toddler standing at the top of a long flight of steps, and the woman falls down the steps while the toddler watches. It ends with the child screaming as the contents of the woman's carrier bag (oranges) rolls away.

Does anyone remember the message or anything else about this? Ta Jx

I thought it was to encourage people to make sure that their stair carpets/runners were properly fixed - else Granny gets it!

Thanks Steve D- checked up but no luck. Also bought 'Charley Says' vols 1 and 2 containing over 280 public information films... and no joy. Sound mental now, but love all those old films

LeMarchand - thanks, but I'm afraid that this one took place outside down a verrrry long flight of grimy concrete steps while the head-scarfed woman was presumably returning home with shopping
