Does the Morgan Freeman character still work for the CIA or an OFFICIAL USA organisation??? Or is he freelance?

Also, the FBI or CIA woman. Is she crooked or again an official?? Why does she want Freeman dead?

And why would she also want John Cusack dead at the end?
