where did the river don burst its' banks in sheffield centre. i cant find where the river banks are higher than the roads.so did the banks "burst" like a dam or did it just flow over the street level banks, by the look of the video in wicker arches it did look like a dam bursting but i cant find where that could happen.

the rainfall was high, (i can't remember how much rain they got, but it was something like a month's worth of rain in 2 days), which flooded out the wicker. parts of rotherham were affected by the rivers bursting.

i know about the rainfall we had the same in doncaster my question was
where and how did the don "burst" its banks i know sheffield quite well but cant see anywhere that the river is higher than the road,and as i said in my question the video seemed more like a dam or a small leevie as in new orleans giving, it was a surge of water not just overflow
