Born to be Different
9 Answers
Not really a question, I have just watched Born to be Different on Channel 4. What admiration I have for the children and families featured.
They have so much to deal with, it makes you feel really humble.
I found it so emotional watching them, they are all so brave and an example to us all.

Like you, I found their strength in character to be awesome, I dread to think how i'd cope of I was faced with a child with any one of their disabilities. Again I cried buckets, for some reason it was the little girl called Emily which really got to me.
It really does put the little things we worry about on a day to day basis into prospective doesn't it?
I've only just stopped blubbing!

Just watched it as well, I have thrown the wet tissues in the bin now. I cannot put into words how much I admire these parents and the children cope so well with whatever is thrown at them. I was especially touched by William when he got his baby sister, what a star he was, such a lovely family, best of luck to them all. xx
It is, as you say, very upsetting. However, some years ago I visited a special needs school on their sports day. The children were an inspiration. The wheelchair-bound kids and those with physical disabilities were determined to do their best at archery and ball games - and a great job of it they made, as well! It was when they proudly went up to collect their prizes that I started to cry. Even with the great disabilities which many of them had, their strength anfd pride made me feel very humble.
