I think for some people, it is unfortunately the only way they can get food and shelter. They are not enjoying it, they see it as a job that has to be done. It will always exist, and that's why I'm all for brothels. At least it's a lot more secure than street corners, and can be monitored for everyone's safety.
I sometimes think why not but there would always be a seedy side to prostitution. Somewhere unregulated to get unprotected cheap sex. urggh! It's not something I would want for my kids to do. I like the way the police are tackling it at the moment though eg by aiming for the punters.
On to me. I'd have to be pretty desperate. I would find having sex with someone I had no connection with absolutely unbearable. I'd make a better domme.
I'm sure most prostitutes, men and women, find it unbearable. But when you are in the deepest end of the crap pool, you still have to breathe, somehow.
I don't have kids, so I would never do it as a last resort. But if I did have kids, and it was the only way I could provide for them, then no, I wouldn't hesitate. And there are people for whom it's exactly the case. That's why I'm all for a regulated sex industry, made safe and secure for all parties involved.
I think you would have to die a bit inside to do it.......yes, would be better if it was a legalised industry-the women who do it deserve protection from both their clients and from pimps if they have them. It can be a very dangerous game.
That is only the "high end" side of it Goodsie, the vast majority (pardon my French!) earn 10 for a blow job in a back alley, and run the risk of being raped, murdered, and whatever else!
There will always be a bad side to it, but at least if it was regulated, so many more women would feel safer and, yes...maybe respected?
Exactly Leg, why not? If that is what they chose to do, given that they are in demand, why not? As long as they are safe, and so are the men, and they are not forced by anyone into anything, then..I really don't see a problem. But then, I'm a bit of an idealist. That would also mean that there would be other options available to them, education and training for example, so they could do something else if they chose to.
the exploitation side of it the problem. The women are exploited because they have no other choice but to sell themselves cheaply. The unregulated brothels are just a fancy street prostitution really, no better than "regular" one. I agree with Daffy. Of course if it's regulated, then itshould be taxed. The money would end up financing healthcare, education, and other government led actions, and not in the pocket of drug dealers and pimps.
