Did anyone record the first episode of tonight's Corrie ? It was weird cos when Audrey sat Maria down for a cup of tea,( I think it was that bit) a text message came through really clearly even though they both ignored it. I thought it was my son's phone cos it sounded the same as his but he wasn't here, even though it sounded as if it was coming from our hallway. I've been spooked by it ! Can anyone help ?
Is it jack daniels ? Oh good, I'll Sky+ it. Thanks. My daughter heard it too and she thought her brother had left his phone. It was just so loud. Really odd.
I kept saying since last Wednesday - she's still not told him, how long is this one gonna go on for?
Like you said - I'd expected Audrey to notice!!! - Mr JD did & he doesn't even like/watch corrie!
I don't actually think Samia Smith is a very good actress. I like her and she generally good but she cannot do crying scenes and be convincing. I remember when Liam fell down the cliff and she was shouting of him. There was no hysteria at all.
I didnt hear phone but would like to know how audrey knew it was a boy. as far as I know no-one knew until baby was born but she kept saying, whats happened to him, where is he, is he in the baby unit.... But I disagree that Maria was rubbish in it, was very moving storyline
Well, I recorded it and watched it again this morning........no sound of a loud text at all ! I'm even more puzzled now cos it was just so loud and both me and my daughter heard it.
I hate it when unexplained things happen lol
4getmenot, I just think she showed too little emotion, though I suppose everyone is different. I agree with you about Audrey knowing it was boy though. I never thought of that but you are absolutely right ! And what's happened to Josh and Freddie ??
Too use 'him' is normal speech pattern when you don't know the sex. It would be convuluted to say 'what's happened to him or her?' and unfeeling to say 'it'.
Some people go hysterical with grief, some shut down and emotionally remove themselves from it because they are truly frightened of letting go.
OMG, when will Corrie get it's act back together again. I can't believe how stupid this storyline is and how ridiculous it is that noone has noticed Maria's bump has disappeared.
Hi jack daniels ! The mystery remains unsolved !
Son never leaves his phone anywhere...it's always permenantly attached to him ! I must admit that when Maria opened up to Audrey and the tears came is was more realistic. It is true that people react differently. I remember a girl in our village lost her 5 month old baby to cot death but she was in the pub the same night playing pool and having a right laugh, even making jokes about her dead baby !!
Very odd !
I think for what ist worth that they have played this storyline very well -Corrie dont usually muck this type of story up.
Maria 'knows' that Liam loves Carla -she thinks that he only married her because she was pregnant and now the baby has died she doesnt think that he will want anything to do with her.To my mind the lack of emotion was someone being in deep shock and in denial to a certain extent.
As for the lack of baby bump -she is still padded to an extent but remember that she was only about 6months gone and I didnt get huge until the last month -she is also wearing the same top which is baggy.
I have been extremely moved by this storyline and I think its a very deep meaningful one which the scriptwriters have researched very well -theres obviously a lot more to come on the back of this.
