We just had our monthly Open Forum meeting at work where all 40 employees gather in a room and fire questions at the CEO.

We decided to have a Suggestion Box coz everyone was too scared to ask for pay rises etc. Upon seeing the box early this AM and seeing it was empty, I added the my own suggestions, in different fonts, and sat back giggling to myself, knowing that no one knew it was me, as a large discussion, much like the House Of Lords took place....he he he

1. Why have we been told that all pay rises have been frozen, then hear that 3 people have requested and received a pay rise

Response - "no one has received a payrise that I am aware of"

2. Why does this company not give any benefits?

Response - "I agree, we need to look at this"

3. Can we cancel this years Xmas party as everyone prefers to go out for driks in there own teams

Response - "yes absolutely, I hate xmas parties!"

We have one at work and over all these years its had one suggestion saying 'Can we have s uggestion box please'

Isn't the whole point of a SB, is that noone knows it is you? If the only Q's in the box are from you, then this says more about your colleagues, than you dunnit?

The Qs seem reasonable enough to me, and they appear to have garnered the usual management responses.

1. Nobody is going to say 'yes I had a pay rise when noone else did' so token answer: nobody did "that I am aware of"

2. Yes we'll look into, maybe next year, maybe manyana.

3. Yes, far too expensive on the company overheads. Get rid.

Octavius, no one knew the comments were from me, that the thing. I saw that no one had made any comments, so I thought sod it, i'll put my own in and watch and laugh as everyone tries to work out who put them in there.
