How long, how long Lord must it go on? Somewhere there is a ball either being kicked, thrown or hit and every minute it is being filmed by the BBC/ITV for our amusement. Football continues apace somewhere or other, in New Zealand there is Rugby and Cricket. Although Ascot is finished, it has been swiftly followed with nary a gasp of breath to Tennis with much soul searching of the wiil we ,won't we brigade followed by the inevitable weather predictions for the next 14 days.

I live in a football consumed area where even rugby doesn't get a look in - in the words of one enlighted individual when I asked if he watched rugby, the reply was "it's for ********" .
The basis of my point of view/question is that TV is for everyone not just a few. There are those who because of financial constraints can't afford any other system, or because of physical disabilities cannot stride off into the countryside for an invigorating walk.
But I guess it all comes down to the dirty word economics. and the ratings.
Thought for the day. I wonder if all the so-called commentators could do another job?
