Why oh why oh why did I put myself through 6 weeks of rubbish tv, only to be faced with a finale of that quality? Just what was that supposed to teach us exactly? That wasn't an ending! I just watched an English guy prat around with an American girl for a couple of weeks, before deciding, actually, it wasn't worth it after all. Did anyone else see it?

Didn't watch it, but some of the females in the house did, so I had the misfortune to catch some of the dreary second episode (I was on the computer in the front room). Looked thoroughly depressing, and when I asked what was so good about it I was told that it was "so romantic" because he travelled all that way to be with her. They were a bit disgruntled when I pointed out that the average Londoner wouldn't have the money to be able to travel to Cornwall on a whim to see a girl, let alone flit off to New York...
I expected that ending; it leaves it open for the next series.

Nooooo! NO more, please!
I know! and didn't it just annoy you when they had a row in NY when he was there, so he just left after about an hour of arriving and then the same happenend again in London the next night when she turned up there!

That's basically what happened for the whole 6 weeks it was on. I could have told them they didn't get on very well!
To your first question - I don't know why we put ourselves through these dreary programmes, I suppose we think they'll pick up, a bit like waiting for a bus (one's bound to come along in a minute). I'm sorry I bothered with Frances Tuesday this week.
I thought it was dreadful. To summarise NY-LON: Show Edie or Michael in a cab. Whenever Edie is sulking by a river in NY, Michael must do the same in London. Edie must call Michael pathetic and keep saying the word 'Evi-dently'. Edie must be angry in each episode. The only thing I liked about NY-LON was the soundtrack! I much prefer Six Feet Under, which was on later.
Ha Ha! yeah the 'evidently' thing really bugged me!
I didn't realise that that was the final episode until the next morning and was suitably disgusted. Could they not have just finished it off with a cheesy happy ever after ending? And what was the crack with Astrid and Luke...?
Question Author
Well, by the end of it I was much more interested in what was going on with Astrid and Luke anyway...do you know the actress who played Astrid used to be married to Macaulay Culkin? Poor girl... And by the way, KittyGlitter? Great answer. Spot on!
