I know I'm sad but I had a look at the draw on the iPlayer and I think I see what you mean. On the Dream Number, there are seven numbers drawn each from 0-9 and they had wee numbers on. I also think I know why that is.
There are seven lots of balls, 0-9 that are whirling round and each of THOSE LOTS is numbered one to seven.
If you freeze the bit where they show the balls after the draw, youl'll see a wee "1" on the first ball a "5" on the fifth ball, a"6" on the sixth and a "7" on the seventh ball.

Have you not considered that the "idiot" has been too busy to buy the ticket earlier or has been forgetful? As for the other point, if there are several hours between the deadline for buying and the actual draw, I think tabytha is suggesting there is scope for the selections to be checked and the draw manipulated.
