Armchair thriller or theatre or what ever!!!

I remember watching a programme with my mum many moons ago about a couple that have a car accident on their way to a friends house. Switch to the house where the freinds are cooking dinner only to see blood pour in under the kitchen door. When they open the door the husband involved in the accident is standing there saying that they have been in a crash so the friends call an ambulance. When the emergency services get to the wreck the husband is still pinned and obviously could not have got out to raise the distress call. I am almost certain it was part of an anthology series but I don't know which!!! Help!!!!!

I remember Armchair thriller!! Sadly not this episode, but I do recall one where a girl was being held for ransom, and also one with a scarey nun like person - aahhh, the 70s, when a thriller was a thriller and kids watched totally inappropriate programmes!! hee hee hee!

Could it have been Tales of the Unexpected, or Tales of Mystery and Imagination? x

It could be Tales of the Unexpected, that was a staple to watch back then but I think something is telling me it was on in the early afternoon!! I could be wrong! I remember it as being around the same sort of time as Crown Court I think!!?? Maybe Arthur C Clarke??
