hi every1 my dad has the same awful condition that was protrayed in the drama.although he doesnt choke he has all the same symtoms as anne turner had.he is only 57 and i feel in some ways i have lost my dad already.he falls doesnt want to eat need help washing dressing struggles to walk etc.my dad is also very very depressed and he too says i want to die rehularly which started me off.he has no interest in life at all and says he just wants 2 lie down and die i sobbed all the way through it and i agree julie walters did an excellent job in portraying anne turner.i am so glad this drama was shown as it will bring to light the horror which is psp as most people have never heard of it.at the start of my dads condition he was accused of being drunk when he was ill, people are so quick to judge.i whole heartedly think dr turner did the right thing by choosing to die as she knew her fate and realised how awful it would be.if i can pull my dad from his depression and he decided he wanted to die i would go with him to switzerland.yes it would break my heart 2 lose him but so will watching him get worse and worse and ending up unable 2 move, speak, eat, drink etc a long slow lingering death.i think assisted suicide should be legal in the uk.no one chooses to get a crippling illness so surely a person should be able 2 choose when they die and to die wth dignity
