google home view??

Hi,

Can anyone tell me what this google homeview is all about?...also I tried to to view my street but no pictures come up when i move the orange little man to the street!

me and my mate was outside my house the other day when a car come up with a big camera on the top .im trying to see if we are on it yet .

There may be no view as your street hasn't been done yet sheryl. Does the little orange man move away to another street when you drag and drop him to your street? The roads that are done tend to be orange and the ones which haven't yet tend to be grey (I think thats right! it was like this when I tried to find my sisters house in Australia earlier)

I drove past their camera van a few weeks ago near work (in London). I've scanned the road but I don't see me!

Craft.. you are quite right.. York is on there too now but not listed on their website as being on streetmap ! There are probably other cities on there that they are keeping quiet about hehe.....

Can anyone else (not on the *official list*) see Streetmap ?

How do you access it then?

I have the latest updates but can't seem to find out how to view at street level.

Postdog, if the little man in top left corner is orange click and drag him to where you want him, he will move to where he can be placed :o)

Go to the Google search engine.... click on Maps... type in an address and if the info box has *street view* listed, just click on it and you should see a *picture* of that address. It takes a bit of practice to manoeuvre the picture through 360 degrees etc but is quite fascinating. All car number plates are fuzzed out but I've seen a few faces of people I know !

The camera car did a three-point turn in my cul-de-sac a few weeks ago, but here - darkest lancashire - is not on view yet. I can't see the car being up here cos they were lost....but oh how ironic if that was the case.

The car's been seen in my neck of the woods, too. Does anyone know how long it takes Mr Google to add new areas after he's taken the snaps?

I'm really intriqued by all this!.
Cant wait to click on and see my local area. + house.
My other half still dont believe that you can see all this stuff on street map.

not all streets are covered with "street view" - my road isnt in it either!
