Can anyone recomend an indoor aerial or where to purchase a particular one , which is capable of receiving the freeview digital channels .
The one I recently purchased does not pick up these channels , even though it states on the box that it does ( the problem is not one of signal in my area ; because I am able to receive the channels with a roof areial )
I'll nip over to tesco .
However , can you please say what the particular make your's is - is it a tesco own brand or another brand I should look out for when I go in .
All new indoor aerials would be capable of receiving digital TV.
the chances are if you've already got one and it's not working then any other one you get won't work.
You may be able to get a signal with your roof aerial but there is a huge difference in getting a signal with a high gain huge beam antenna on top of your roof and a getting one with a little antenna tucked down the back of the TV.
4getmenot - that looks similiar to the one i bought , which does not have a biooster .
Is it likely that one with a booster would make the difference ?
just to add some more confusion, i bought one with a booster from argos which didn;t work and then got a cheaper one for a fiver from wilkinsons (no booster) and it works fine!
Surely it depends how far you are from the TV transmitter, or if you hjave hills around you, of if you are in a "dip".
If you are a mile from the transmitter an indoor aerial may be fine, if you are 50 miles then maybe not.
Also remember that if your area is still pushing out the analogue signal the digital signal will be weaker. When they turn off analogue the digital signal is boosted so it is more likely to get picked up by an indoor aerial.
