I asked becaue the guy who won - isn't he on the telly sometimes - wasn't he on that Consumer programme that Ester Rantsen used to present - or have i got it all wrong ?

The guy who won was a radio presenter - never seen him on tv - don't remember him from Esther Rantzen progs - he'd have been too young, I think. None of them were "celebrities".

yeah youre right that chap was on thats life with esther rantzen years ago, he was just one of them on there that used to read out a funny viewers story or something or an issue that was being discussed on the programme..
