How many thought this was abysmal?

I cannot stand Dermot O'Leary, all that hype at the beginning, with him going around asking how he should host the awards. he even dared to approach that God Simon Cowell who phoned his hit man to 'kill him'.

Pity they didn't succeed because he was still on our screens, working up the mass hysteria of the 'rent a mob' crowd, with their whoops and screams.

Far too much hype for me I reached for the remote, and peace prevailed at last.

I liked it. If you cant stand the man, did you watch it all?
sorry meant to say how far did you get?
Yes, they could have done with loosing the beginning, though don't blame Dermot, it would most likely be the director who came up with that idea, an attempt at humour.

The other part I thought didn't work was a little into the show, thay mentioned how and where the votes had been collected, with captions zooming up the screen with a star-field background and big shouty voice-over trying to get funnier and funnier. It wasn't funny to my mind.
was a bit miffed as to why they had to show us what was happening in corrie
The whooping and screaming while Stephen Fry was doing his acceptance speech was really strange, although he is great he is not exactly a heart throb is he?
dont think it was screaming at him being sexy although some people I know think he is. Think it was more because people thought he deserved it
my sister and nieces were at it last night and had a great night !
the screaming and whooping during david tennants speech got right on my knackers - did they role in the x factor rentacrowd ?

i found it a bit odd that some of the nominees hadn't even been on our screens in over a year, except for repeats on itv 3 or 4 or dave.
Who was the girl in the red dress standing directly behind Bill Roache during his acceptance speech.?
I agree. It was awful. The front few rows were full of soap stars. I gave up after an hour of the audience screeching, then turned back to see Ant and Dec winning again - didn't they win once when the votes were fixed? I only hope the BAFTAs are better.

As co-presenters there is only Ant & Dec to win it each year.

Once we had Morecambe & Wise, Little & Large, The Two Ronnies, Cannon & Ball, Dudley Moore & Peter Cook.

Who is there now?

I got fed up waiting for it to start, so turned it off, before it started.

So perhaps it wasn't fair of me to condemn the whole show.

It's that 'stupid', 'waste of space' individual Dermot O'Leary, what can he really do apart from also fronting the X Factor?
I think this is quite a difficult show to front.....who else would you rather have....Jonothan Ross.....Graham Norton...........et al .....all with their own shows to plug (well perhaps not Ross now)
I think O'Leary did a decent job of it.......found it embarrassing when Loose Women won.........can't stand the pompous git Stephen Fry and frankly find David Tennant weird.....
was it my cynicism that lead me to believe that most awards were won by itv ?

in the best entertainment category which antendec won for celebrity jungl and/or takeaway, not one show from the beeb was nominated !! is that because the beeb just doesn't do these shows ?
I agree with craft, well at least you had a remote to end your misery Ankou
snkou, bbc - gavin and stacey, stacey slater, doctor who, Stephen Fry American thing.....
