what is the film?

I caught the ending to a film a while ago when i was on holiday and i wished id seen all of it.

all I have to go on is that it was american,about a black family, the mother had died but the little girl kept on seeing her and used a pet name for her something along the lines of 'beetle bug'

It wasn't a serious drama then again it was not a comedy id say in between.

id love to watch the whole film as it looked really good if anyone can help at all id be over the moon -sorry its all a bit vague but that is all i can remember -cheers x
