I weren't sure where to put this but its the sort of thing you chatterbankers could speculate on.

When i cycle to school another odd thing i've come across is a piece of land that only has the edges mown.

I think it belongs to the council, there is a playground covering part of the area but the rest is a rather over grown field with a path that's being worn away. At the edges of the field and where the field meets the playground, the grass has been mown, but nowhere else.

At first i thought that the person may have finished work at 3.30pm and was going to come back and finish it the next day, but its been over a week, and still, only the borders have been mown.

any ideas?

this could be wild bird cover. landowners and councils recieve grants to leave a certain amount of long grass so wild birds can feed/nest etc!
There will be two council crews who do the mowing, one does the main (ride-on) mowing, another does the edges with strimmers.

I bet the ride-on mower crew forgot to turn up :)
The more I read of your questions the more I'm starting to think that you're doing what a user called scanning used to do - asking stupid questions and then posting our answers on a blog somewhere.
I did ask you about this the other night but you ignored it..

I think he should live in an old people's home, almost every time we go out and about in the town or village, we see him, pushing the same trolley, wearing the same clothes, But the odd thing is, whenever he's not worn his hat, he looks like he's had a decent hair cut and keeps his facial hair neat and tidy aswell, so we don't think he's homeless, probably jsut a bit eccentric.

daffy that's probably it, i just assumed it was the same people and thought it was odd that they only did the edges.
Is this old man Lord Lucan. Wondered where he had gone !

We're not quite in Norfolk, a few miles from the border though.
