Sky 1 are advertising a new series of 24.  Is this really a new series or the last one - the one with the virus - that they're reshowing?  Does anyone know why Sky have been so appalling at showing the programme?  BBC 2 offered enough 2nd chances that I was able to keep up.  Anyone know when the virus one will be shown on terrestrial tv?  Thanks

Sky will be showing Season 4 of "24" starting 30th Jan. This has not been shown on UK TV before. (Rumour has it that - after complaints from Muslim groups - the show may be cut for broadcast).

Sky repeated the show 4 or 5 times each week on first transmission (including Sky Mix) and at least twice on the main channel. They also offered "catch up" blocks of 3 or 4 episodes at a time, and have repeated the show at least once since first transmission (a run of Season 3 - the virus one - ends this Sunday). All in all, they showed it more  times than the BBC did.

Season 3 is unlikely to be shown any time soon on terrestrial because Sky signed an "exclusive" contract, giving them sole rights. I seem to remember that 5 were interested in showing Season 3, but I'm not sure if it went further than that.

Many thanks. I don't have Sky 1 Mix , so didn't count the repeat showings on there. I don't remember there being blocks of repeated 24 on Sky 1, I must have missed those. I think I found that Sky had lined up 24 against another programme - ER - and my allegiance to Kiefer waned, because I assumed they would show repeats and catch-ups as BBC2 had. When they moved the Saturday evening Sky 1 repeat to Sky mix, I was so fed up that I gave up watching. With only 1 digi-box, recording wasn't an option either.
Choices are selling the box sets for 17 each from the 24th if you still need to catch up!
