You know the BBC "idents"? Well that one with the people doing thai chi, dressed in red, is doing my head in! I'm sure the first bloke the camera focuses on is the actor who played a policeman in a tv series in the late seventies. I think it was called "Rosie". No-one else in my family can remember it and therefore think I've made it up! Surely someone knows what I'm on about?

..yup I remember rosie, though I hav'nt noticed the bbc indent you refer to... Rosie ran from 77-81 and Pc Michael "Rosie " Penrose was played by Paul Greenwood...

Yes, I remember 'Rosie'. It starred Paul Greenwood as Rosie (PC Penrose) and Tony Haygarth as PC Wilmot.

Unfortunately I don't know if Paul Greenwood is the man doing the thai chi, but I hope this helps anyway!

Certainly looks like him to me. You could try e-mailing the BBC. They should know.
No, I'm afraid you're wrong he's not an actor but a Scot from Hamilton called Malcolm Pollock, the son of a couple my sister-in-law is friendly with.
