Tonight's Masterchief featured a Surf and Turf dish, [lobster and meat]at 5 star restaurant in Covent garden, would you pay this for a lunch dish! Even if I could afford it would have to think twice! Think how much food you could buy for £74
Ha ha! That reminds me of when we took our Canadian visitors to a very posh London restaurant. She sat there with the food in front of her waiting for the rest it it, including her chips, to arrive! :o)
I really like my food, I'm not sure I would pay that much for it though. I like a plate of food that is going to leave me busting at the seams. On occasions I have left a restaurant just to go to a kebab house and get something to satisfy my appetite. I may be a philistine but hey....... a mans gotta eat.
I like a meal to be presented well but that certainly is not the most important part for me, if its on my plate I want to enjoy eating it, not looking at it.
We have a lovely restaurant near me. Not posh but trying to appear posh. They plate up like a posh restaurant and put your veg in bowls so not to ruin the look.
Lovely food though.
I went to dinner with an American. She couldn't understand why we had to wait for the meal and did nothing but moan. No matter how many times we told her it was cooked to order...
I'm opposite to you. I cannot bare the feeling of being too full. Once I start to feel full every mouthful becomes a chore. I also eat painfully slow...lucky OH does as well.
I don't like being over-full either ummmm - and I hate to see a plate piled high with food. It puts me off eating it at all. Having said that, the fashion for 'neuvelle cuisine' really is an absolute rip off.
