I ussed to like the early American ones, such as I Love Lucy, I married Joan and the Phil Silvers show, but of course all the stars are long since dead.

Have there ever been any examples of TV shows that returned after an interval that were better than the original, not just a poor shadow of their former selves? I really like Star Trek: The Next Generation but it took at least 2 seasons before it took off.
