Don't most famlies? Help their offspring pay towards the big day I mean? No difference here in this case, well, the sums involved might be marginally bigger I guess ;-)
What`s wrong with that?
Bit of a theme developing, gina32.............
If I was Prince William, I would move you, gina32, up my list and close to the top to be incarcerated in the Tower or shot, when I become King
I sent his mum and dad a wedding card, I'll be sending him and his mrs one come the time. To be honest I am just waiting for the date to be announced and then I will book the week off and arrange to visit my son's godmother in Richmond, her son goes out with jerry halls daughter so there's a chance of a close up seat lol
close up seat to the television as the Abbey is not in Richmond and I dont think that they are thinking of the local Parish Church.......
What is wrong with that? Parents pay for their daughters weddings. Mine did,

its all the hangers on, this is my country and as i dont wish to live anywhere else i have no choice but to pay for them, doesnt mean to say i have to like it
The Queen, Prince Charles and Prince William are 'hangers-on' ?
Really ?

How do the hangers on cost the country? It is right that the public purse covers the cost of state and public duties, but these are refunded by the Queen to the Privy Purse from her income on the Duchy of Lancaster estates. Other than that, they fund their own lifestyles. Grace and favour apartments no longer exist (in all but the most deserving cases) and they now pay rent for any apartments or offices they maintain in Crown Estate buildings.
I'd rather fund their lifestyle than the workshy jobless peasants on sink estates.
Agree BOO. They generate a huge income for us and I think our country would be poorer in non material terms without them. As for hangers on, there are not that many these days.

I have huge admiration for the Queen. She has a difficult job, loads of overtime and no chance of retiring - She is a very gracious lady in my opinion.
Agree with you Loftie. However, I do feel sorry for HM. Every time they go anywhere, she must be hoping that the DoE doesn't open his mouth and put his foot in it. My Nanna says she knows exactly how the Queen feels!
Oh yes Barmaid, but I can't help liking the old boy!! He amuses me. I bet they have quite a giggle behind closed doors. I reckon she has a great sense of humour.

I think his daughter takes after him, Redhelen!

Just think he is 90 next year and still a striking looking man in my opinion. The Queen chose well. I bet she married for love!!
Oh he makes me laugh too. I bet it's nice to be able to say EXACTLY what you think sometimes!!! Can't believe he'll be 90 next year.
