Oh no, not those awful attention-seeking newsreaders again!

I know it's for Children In Need, but I'd happily donate to charity for the BBC newsreaders not to strut their stuff on-screen ever again. I get the impression that the likes of Fiona Bruce and Kate Silverton (who both make my skin crawl) can't have got much attention as kids because they always seem to be pining for it. Their job is basically reading off autocue yet they appear to think they're the bees knees. Anyone out there, apart from the newsreaders themselves, actually look forward to their annual CIN contributions?

I really like Kate Silverton. Down to earth lady and would disagree that she seems 'pining' for it. Fiona Bruce - I agree with you.

Actually they have to do far more than reading off autocue!! They also have to be very well informed.

What they should do is say - If we get pledges amounting to £1million, we'll stop the newsreaders doing a silly routine.
They'd make that million in the first 10 minutes.
