On the TV sometime last week they said that the modern way of investigations would, or may, prove whom the killer was, but I haven`t heard or seen anything more. Have you?

It is on tomorrow night at 8pm Channel 5.
Ah! Thanks carole!
"Part one of two. Documentary re-creating the original police investigation to catch the famous killer, using CGI and live action to replicate the murder scenes. Two of the world's leading Ripper experts examine the original press reports and inquest testimonies revealing the possible identity of the culprit and a motive for the crimes. Part two can be seen on January 20"

i have studied this a lot, and more often i think researchers, authors whatever, start out by deciding who it is and then making the evidence work. patricia cornwells crap book was a prime example.
Didn't she destroy a painting to 'prove' her theory, Ankou ?
If I were a conspiracy theorist, which I'm not, I would still plump for Prince Albert, Duke of Clarence, heir to Edward VII until his untimely death.
Wasn't the main suspect an American quack.....Dr. Tumbleweed or something.?
An American artist was also in the frame (no pun intended).
I think the main suspect was a surgeon to the Royal Family. Duke of Clarence was gay, but I am not sure whether the women were sexually abused before death.
carole....Sir William Gull.
thanks, his name escaped me!

Sir William Gull....it was him all `white`
From what I have read in the past the mutilations were performed with surgical precision, which pointed to a member of the medical profession.

"Sqad, can you tell me where you were between 3rd April, 1888 and 13th February, 1891?"

All-white at the back?
lmao Mike.

I'd be interested to see if this programme comes up with anything new other than rehashing the theories from the 60s and 70s on the Duke of Clarence and Gull. I'm inclined to think though that there simply won't be anything new though. Still might be worth a look.
