How stupid is Corrie???

This is getting hard to watch, it's so stupid.
I know, I know, I can switch off but they often have decent story lines but this John Stape thing is so far fetched.

John Stape's storylines make me feel so uncomfortable, they are destroying the programme, I have watched since day one but never felt as bad as this. It is so unbelievable, this is his 3rd murder, it's not credible and brings the programme into disrepute. (I'll still carry on watching as I'm a long term addict)

I had to switch over last night, I just couldn't stand watching any more. It seems so crazy to change a sensible decent person to this killling machine. I probably wont watch again until Wednesday!

I think they destroyed Corrie years ago - I'd watched it since the first programme but stopped watching about 2/3 years ago because it had got so stupid. It sounds like it hasn't improved in that time, it's a shame it was good at one time.

For me it got too far fetched about 23/24 years ago. I found it easier to give up than smoking and haven't seen more than about 20 seconds of it since, in fact, we are a Soap FREE household, thankfully!

Mick is right. Corrie is not your average run-of the-mill soap, it is a national institution. Unlike other imitators, the comic sub-text of Corrie borders on the divine. It's worth watching for a whole week, just to catch the odd classic one-liner. Sometimes I think the scriptwriters are flogging a dead horse; (as the Good Book says, 'Some fell on stony ground'). Nevertheless, having watched it from the age of 11 (now 62), I couldn't do without it. Sheer escapism, but none the worse for that.

I gave up on Corrie some time ago when I realised that there were more irritating characters than enjoyable ones. Not so much a story line issue. On the odd episode I do watch now I must say that Becky is absolutely brilliant.

I thought John Stape was the funniest thing on tv last night and when I have just tried to describe it to a work colleague she too thought it was funny.

I love the way that last night's John Stape fiasco was presented as a comedy. Had me in stitches. Corrie still manage to do humour so well. No other soap can achieve anything like it.

he was originally an unhinged stalker and kidnapper which he managed to plan and get right until they brought him back he had quite a sinister character, now he is a bumbling fool who reminds me of Norman Wisdom in the way accidents happen,

Although the storyline is ridiculous I thought last night's episodes were hilarious. The actor who plays John Stape is brilliant.
Does anyone know who dropped the tape off through Mrs Fishwick's letterbox? Was he the chap who was at John's last school?
