American idol

Does anyone else agree that the performances, styles, singing and talent on show in American idol is much much better than our home grown (UK) displays.

that may well be due to a difference in sense of humour - i'd rather see some of the talentless people that go on & humiliate themselves than just the fantastically wonderful performers, whereas this may not be the case in the US

also, the population of the USA is far far greater than that of the UK

Personally i find american idol very cheesy! It's ok but UK shows such as X Factor and Pop Idol are far better! Plus i think our judges are far more honest!

I agree.I am not a fan of the UK Pop Idol programe simply because of the lack of talent.The only UK contestant that I think has any talent is Will Young, but he would not stand a chance against the likes of Ruben Studdard,Fantasia Burrino of Clay Aiken.I was not that impessed with LKelly Clarkeson though.
