Apart from a few hiccups I thought the evenings entertainment was quite funny, and even though we are in the middle of a recession the amount raised exceeded previous shows which just goes to show that the general British public are very charitable.

Oh Dear mik, I suggested teaching them about contraception and found my self knee deep in trouble, thus conceding Western ideals should not be forced upon them which is possible a good point

I take your point. However, they should be taught to help themselves. year after year we see the poor starving children.Surely controlling the birth rate there would help them.charity begins at home.Just look around at the suffering in this country .that is where help is needed. I guess ,however, that as long as politically correct people continue to suport these countries we shall continue to see no change.The same goes for overseas age as far as I am concerned....here we are short of hospitals, people suffering from cancer,old and young in poor conditions and going through huge cutbacks with this government...yet look at the millions that is sent to in aid overseas.

That is the reason I prefer to give to Children in Need. I also agree that charity begins at home and no, I'm not selfish (or racist). I give to British charity regularly.
