Travelling early on Friday morning (5.30am - not a normal thing at all for us) Mr Q and I tuned in to Radio 2 (big Chris Evans fans and we knew he'd be on in an hour) we found ourselves in the company of Vanessa Feltz.. Oh my God, who put that woman on the radio? I thought Steve Wright was bad enough but the Feltz just cannot shut up! Didn't like her music - that's when she finally shut up and played some music. She twittered on about tomatoes non-stop! Then at one point gave a run down on all the stuff she'd been on about since coming on air. I kept listening, convinced that she'd improve but no, she just got progessively worse!
Well I feel much better nor after that little rant.

It was the "put on" posh voice that did me in. She is dreadful. Changed stations.
Well this may be of some compensation to you. It's VF being thoroughly stitched up by Brasseye by 'contributing' to society by reading from the pre-prepared script :-)

She is a bit full of herself. Btw, does anyone else think that (apart from the weight) she looks and sounds a bit like Ann Aston (she of The Golden Shot, years ago)?
I used to listen to Sarah Kennedy followed by Terry Wogan. I can just about cope with Chris Evans but VF makes me want to punch the radio (I'm not good in the mornings anyway). But goodness she is irritating and completely vacuous.
Did she once host a prime-time television program ? Now she's on at 5.30 AM on radio.
I miss Sarah Kennedy. She was fun and genuine.
You'd love Matt Forde on a Sat and Sun night on talkSport (1-6am) and Keef Arffur between 6-8 on a Sat & Sun Morn.

Phone in they say, well, I'm sure folk would if they could get a word in

I feel your pain
Think she has an afternoon show on Channel 5, Sandy
Chanel 5 in the afternoon, not much better than Radio 2 in the early hours.
Mmmm! I quite like Vanessa, I enjoy her show.
Can I say I'm a big fan of Steve Wright in the afternoon too. - Hey - Ho, to each his own I suppose.

jem
She only got a telly show again after widescreen tellys came in.
Love Steve Wright and his crew, especially the old woman, and have changed back to Radio 2 by then.
I like steve wright in the afternoon with the 'old woman'. Vanessa goes on too much so pompous and self righteous.
VF is the same as Sarah Kennedy was - a middle England posh bird who thinks her verbal nonsense is of any interest to anyone anywhere.

I feel that the BBC is still guilty of the 'cult of personality' - they find someone they imagine the nation loves, and forces us to watch / listen to them until it dawns on them that this person is really not that fabulous.

Look at all the fuss when Wogan went - as if life on earth had ended, and what happens - Evans knocks Wogan's listening figures off the scale!

As for Patrick Kealty, I have to stop now, I can feel one of my heads coming on ...
Andy - agree with you also about Patrick K - awful. Without doubt the best show on Radio2 is 6pm on Saturday evening with Alan Carr and Melanie Sykes. Has me in tears of laughter most weekends. Brilliant.
Oh heck - I'm think they are just as bad!

Melanie os of course a godess in human form, but come on, nothing is THAT funny!
Bet you've never listened. They are hyserical at times and she has the greatest laugh. Can't fault them.
Alan Carr makes me cringe....
I loved Wogan, still listen to his occasional Sunday programmes, really miss him I was a TOG. Also loved Sarah K between them they got me to work (When I had to go before the big R )
