1980s scifi radio program

Can anyone remember the name of the radio series that went out in the 1980's that was about a group of astronoughts ,egyptian pyramids on mars and sky boats,i think one of the caracters was called chip or chipper,many thanks....Neil

I listened to 'Journey into Space' about 55 years ago. I think it was on Radio Luxembourg, there was a character called 'Lemmy'

Journey Into Space has just recently finished it's run on Radio 4 Extra but will probably be repeated again in a few months time.

I listened to "Journey into Space" about 55 years ago on BBC Home Service I think - that was all my dad's car radio would pick up! It was set on a planet called Hesicos.

There were pyramids in the follow-up The Red Planet as well as some sort of sky ships. (has also been on radio 4 extra)

I am really happy someone asked this question. I couldn't believe it when I saw it, because I have been wondering for a long time now myself what that great play was. I have such fond memories of it as a child...I shall tell you what it is...I am so certain I am right...it was called Space Force..YES...Space Force ( series 2) it has a character called Chipper in it, and yes it has pyramids, mars, Egyptians.

The series was written by Charles Childton and broadcast in 1985. I have just found out myself and am really happy that at last I know too.
