I like to listen to Chris Evans, except when he interviews a studio guest.

For some unfathomable reason, while the interview is going on, there is some mindless jazz saxophone honking and hooting away in the background, and it's really distracting.

I am sure people are capable of simply listening to a conversation without the need for constant musical ccompaniement.

It's Radio Two not Top Shop!

I haven't heard this, but I would go further: some of us old folks have bad hearing and added noise actually makes it impossible to hear the the interview.

Of course this may be a plot to purge R2 of it's more mature listeners.
Aww, disappointed now, I thought you were going to say he farted whilst on air, that appealed to my juvenile side.
It's the same on the T.V. 'Atmospheric' music in the background and you can't hear the dilalogue.
