It would be very suspicious if Shula were to stand up in court and make a statement regarding the hunt when she had said something totally different at the time. It wouldn't advance Helen's cause and it could land her in prison.

What Helen's brief has to establish is that the stabbing was down to a motive of self defence, for her and little Henwe. The last thing she needs is for a dodgy witness to turn up in court and be torn apart by Rob's brief. Shula is a liar and it will childs play for that to be proven in court.
Last night, Rob deliberately went out of his way to see Jess, and I guess that was all about making her so frightened that she won't be able to help Helen. He really is the most calculating of individuals.
