Oh and

Oight, oight, I hope you are sleeping toight
morning all. Weather here cold but wind had died down so we went out. Dogs are now asleep and I am enjoying a warming cuppa before heading back to bed. I now have a brilliant red jar of cranberry liqueur started in the kitchen, you shake it daily for 4 weeks then strain and bottle and store for 3 months...hope it keeps its colour, maybe I should store it in the dark.

Morning all...a much better day, calm, blue sky, light frost, just as January ought to be. A neighbour a few doors up has got lots of crocususususes out in his front garden.

I'd better go and take the tree down before it's time to hang easter eggs on it...when is easter this year?....<goes to check>.....Easter Sunday's Sunday, 8 April...
Hello, all OK? It was 20° here last night, not fair.

All been out for brekkie, it's their xmas day here so all very quiet.

Shaney, I keep meaning to ask, how is Mr s,? Hope things are improving.

Was going to roast a leg o'lamb but haven't any in the freezer, they are all still in the hotel freezer where we get them from, so hija will have to do something with mince.

Lottie for 40 yrs I have never worn a bra in the house, in fact I never wore one out til I was 35, as I was pert and nice shaped. First thing I do when I get home is to change into joggers and a top. The spanish love to wear their housecoats all day, I hate it, as mine is for when I am clean and relaxing.
Hallo folks
Lovely cold bright day here .The wind seems to have eased off thank goodness and slept OK last night .
To make up for being a slack Alice yesterday have pot of soup on the go and have made an apple pie .
I don't normally hang around in my dressing gown either Neti only on days that I feel lousy with the itis or after that awful windy night with little sleep. Mr S. is Ok thank you . He's slowly getting there .The tablets seem to be helping .Mustn't grumble .
Hope everyone is ok ..see you later .
hello again.....woke up at 11.30 with two dogs snoring beside me. I just had blueberry toast for breakfast. You cook blueberries in maple syrup till they pop and serve them on hot buttered toast......mmmmmmm
Good morning! Have been out for coffee and bought a new bird feeder, have been round my estate doing a routine inspection of new bulbs poking through, have got the dog a new toy, which she is busy killing. Am shortly going to take her out.

The only time I don't wear a bra now is if I am in bed or in my dressing gown, so that's probably why I stay in my dressing gown at home. Like you, Neti, I rarely wore them in my younger days when the boobies stayed where they were meant to be - looking straight ahead!!

Nobody can see me when I am at home anyway and I don't welcome univited callers, so a dressing gown is fine. In the summer I wear a kaftan with nothing underneath.

Dressing gown is brown with white spots, floor length with a zip and hood, quite trendy really!!! It's quite presentable if I have to open the door.

I don't exactly look like this in it:

Can't eat blueberries since hija and I had them on Key Largo with pancakes and they were all blue, the sight alone put us off, so Mr N ate them.

Washing machine has decided to flood the laundry room, so have had to clear everything out (and believe me it is packed with rubbish) and mop as much out as I can, then put old towels to try to dry it. Trouble is the floor slopes backwards, so it's all puddling at the back of the washing machine and dryer. Mr N is of course, golfing. I do have an outside switch so can and have turned the leccy off so no danger) Hope I require a new washing machine as this one is limping and shrieking, but probably just needs the filter cleaning which I cannot do cos I broke the handle last time I tried it.
I love blueberry pancakes and make humdingers. You make a thicker than usual batter with egg yolks, flour milk and a little sugar then whisk the eggwhites to soft peak and fold then into the batter. Plop spoonfuls on a hot oiled griddle or oiled heavy frying pan and they should spread a little to about 4 inches before the base sets.
Sprinkle about 12 blueberries into the half cooked pancake and when it looks dry, flip it over. The blueberries will cook into the pancake and turn purple.
Serve with blueberries cooked in maple syrup.
The pancakes shouldn't be blue and the blueberries turn purple when they are cooked!
We inherited a waffeleisen from ma in law .I 've used it a few times to make waffles and they are very delicious with cherries ( from a jar) and whipped cream
Thing is you need to make a lot to make it worthwhile and there are only so many waffles a girl can eat .
I'll have to invite you all round in the summer for tea on the lawn.
With plenty of Pimms of course for Jno :)
Crikey Neti ..nothing worse ..I went to work one morning years ago .switched machine on as I left ,when I came home at lunchtime the water met me at the door !
And Shaney was paddling around in it ..haha..
I didn't laugh at the time.the air was blue !
That's why I'm glad my laundry room is outside so the water (when it isn't pooling backwards) can flow or be swept straight out the door. On the other hand when it's peeing down I have to get wet taking the washing back and forth.

Half an hour to put the tree & a few decs up...two bloomin hours to pack it all away...how's that? In what will feel like a few days we'll be getting it all back out again.

Poor shaney dog, haha. I never leave my washer to do it's own thing, it likes to samba about and an engineer told me they're the cause of a lot of fires....I certainly had one that, had I not been here, would have burnt out.
My zanussi caught fire underneath and we didn't know until it wouldn't work one day and when Mr N pulled it out to have a look it was burnt out, another reason I am so glad it is separated from the house.
I've never left a washing machine to it's own devices since then .It was a nightmare .And the annoying thing was the guarantee had not long run out .
It was Hotpoint rubbish .After limping along with it for a while ( it went bosoms up several times ) we ditched it and bought a Bosch which is still chugging along merrily ...touch wood .

Mine's an LG Intello but I'm dubious about the intello part :o)

...now what did I want to look for on tinter?....dum de dumm....a lamp, that was it. I moved a lamp to put the tree up and I like it there so now there's a dark corner ...<rambles on>...

:o)
Mine's Hotpoint and has turned out to be the best one I have ever had. No trouble whatsoever. Hope I am not speaking to soon!!
Is there another new series of Mrs Browns Boys, if so I'll have to hunt it down.
Hi All Poor you Neti. Touch wood I've never had a bad leak from any of my washers. The one I have now is a Bosch and it comes on the morning at 6.30 when I set it. I get my washing done on Economy 7. (Cheaper).

Oooohh Woofy you make the most delicious things to eat and drink. I'd love the cranberry licquer. I expect you have to put a lot of sugar in which wouldn't really do for me but if ever we meet and you have a bottle with you I'm definitely going to have a sip...!
I bought some cranberries the other week and cooked and froze them and have been having some most days in my porridge or with some yoghurt after my tea. I love them.
I'm have a 'driving me up the wall itch day'. I've been back to the Drs. cos nothing is improving in the nether region. And he has examined me AGAIN! and has given me some 'torpedos' to bung you know where and I have to go back in 10 days appointment made by him. I'm getting fed up ~sorry. That's me moan for the day.

Have been to town for a jog round then home for some dinner. Now I have to wash the pots. At least I'll be standing up which will relieve the situation somewhat..
See yer later 'gater(s)
Poor jude are we talking "heaps" here, or another itch. Sorry can't offer any advice as I don't have a clue, warm salt bath maybe? Hope you get relief soon x
huge sympathy jude, personal itching is the pits. Last time we had a flood it was the water softener which was huge fun as when the water dried, it left a salt tideline everywhere.
I have been doing business today, chasing lost paperwork at the pensions people, and generally catching up and my head is spinning. Also there are two lots of fence that need fixing so more outlay :-(
