Deal or no deal could be completed in half the time if Noel Edmonds didnt try to annalise every decision, as though there is some strategy involved. It's not a game of skill, it is pure luck, that's it!

It's just a way of what they call 'padding' in television. It can be rather tiresome. Who Wants To Be A Millionaire used to do my head in with prevarication, but the new 'speed answer' formula has improved it tenfold.
I think if you look carefully most quiz type shows do that. If they didn't they would either have to ask more questions or shorten the programmes. One notable exception is Only Connect which goes along at a fair old rate.
Well past its sell-by date with only 2 top winners in 5+ years
You got it, Scotman. Only Connect...excellent!
You've seen penguins clapping in the zoo you've seen D or no D - except the keeper is an egomaniac.
I like DOND and I like Noel Edmonds. There, I've said it!

I feel so much better now I've got that off my chest
When we watched it, what we enjoyed were the contestants whose sheer strength of character broke through the formula. Then it was good.
15-to-1 was another great quiz show that didn't mess around and William G Stewart took no prisoners.
The way the contestants in DOND strut about pointing out to who should open the box, and run over and kiss the person who opens the box if its a low £ makes me throw up.

They are are chosen as contestants from 1,000s who apply for the show, and there are 2/3 interviews to pick the most extrovert people who have a sad story's to tell, showing photos of family, kids etc, a bit like that crap programme of 1 hour makeover show. .
