I like those sorts of programmes.
I thought that word was normally replaced by the AB filter to something like 'manontheclaphamomnibus'
Does anyone on these programmes ever buy any house shown? They all seem a load of time wasters!
I agree with FredPuli. I am puzzled about those programmes where they look at properties overseas - in every one I have seen they decided to stay in the UK
Probably just do it for a free holiday somewhere!
They do seem to have moved away from the ordinary 'Joe and Joanna' wanting to buy their first house........and into the realms of 'Tarquin and Jocasta' who have a budget on £900,000 (but could stretch that for the right property) to buy a medieval tithe barn in the Thames Valley area within an easy commute to 'The City'.......
The point of the programme isn't to help people find a house and buy it (although that does occasionally happen)

The point is to provide an hour of looking round houses (usually aspirational) for millions of people to gain some vicarious pleasure

ask any estate agents how often they are asked for viewings by habitual 'tyre kickers'
Last year, when my landlord put the house I'm renting on the market for a short time one of the bloody neighbours booked a viewing so they could have a snoop round!
I love watching house programmes as I'm nosey...............
