Did I miss something in New Tricks last night?
What paper did Jack swop in the 100 yr old case, when he gave it back to the Secret Service man? and why ?Who did he give the paper to in the pub? and was the SS man involved after all ? and what was to be the outcome?

Jack put in any old papers that were lying around and kept the file papers concealed in his newspaper, and then it is implied that the man in the pub is a journalist.
Tim Macetc did say earlier that they were all predictable and this is exactly what he wanted to happen so that the gov could distance themselves from the dirty deeds
