He certainly came a cropper..
LOL
Actually, I just remembered, it isn't that ridiculous....when my dad was dying he was desperate for some smoked haddock, but only from a certain shop. My mum couldn't get it there and traipsed miles to another fishmonger (a rare thing back then, as supermarkets didn't have them either ) She got some but panicked that he would know it wasn't from that shop. As it happened he was too ill to eat, but she felt really bad she could not fulfil his wish.
That is so sad, Postdog. So the storyline is not ridiculous.

Sorry to read what happened in your family Postdog. However,I am sure that your Mother would have behaved in a more organised and dignified way to obtain the haddock than portrayed by Roy in getting those strawberries.
I suppose the storyline is so deep they tried to lighten it a bit.
I think Roy's behaviour was totally in character. He doesn't act rationally when stressed and focused on a cause, especially when he believes he is in the right - remember the incidents with the bats on the building site and littering outside his café.

The scene in the shop where Roy was pleading for the strawberries quite pulled at the heart strings.
I agree with hc and Postdog, many people lose their sense of taste on chemo but every once in a while there's something that hits the spot.
Poor Roy's trying desperately to please Hayley, he needs some support himself but he's not the sort to accept any. I was thinking last night how this (so far) is the closest to reality I've seen a soap deal with serious/terminal illness and it's effect on others.
I think the relationship between Carla and Hayley is beautiful. Nice to see a softer side to Carla.
It is hc, and when the going gets tough the best support is often from the least expected person.
I didn't think it was ridiculous at all. Bracing myself now for Hayley's death.
when I was having CT, a friend brought in strawberries cream and champagane

and I felt so crap I couldnt eat anything.....
