Thanks for the link. I'd already made a note of the Sony exhibition dates in London (1st - 18th May, Somerset House, £7.50) but those pictures just make me even more certain that I want to get there!
some great ones there - the Dutch one looks like a modern Breughel
Fabulous, thanks - love the Cormorant Fisherman.
they are very good, i was interested particularly in the one of the fisherman and the cormorant, and looked up the photographer, looks very professional. I watched the series on Wild China when it was first shown back in 2008 i think, and there were scenes like that, quite stunning,
looks like he has been a winner numerous times, his work is beautiful

Wow they are all pretty groovy. Thanks for the link ;)
Some brilliant pictures - thanks for the link, Gromit.

I love the horse in number 13.

I agree - there sure is a lot of 'post exposure' processing going on, Scrivens.

Not sure it devalues the pictures, but it's all a bit different from the old days when the quality of the original image was a much larger factor.

Just, Wow!!!
The winning photo of the wildebeest is great, I liked the cormorant fisherman too and the communal housing in Singapore. Thanks for the link Gromit.
Would that be the Hong Kong winner Gromit?

Must admit that is a stunning photo, but my choice would have been the 3rd place, Nordics, National Award photo number 11.

AOG

Yes, the Hong Kong photographer. I have put it as my screen wallwaper, though it is a bit busy.

Jno,

Yes, I agree. That is a great photo, even if it is a bit christmascardy.

Mamyalynne,
I think that may be the same fisherman that HSBC used to have on their tv advertisement.

a lot of this stuff (the photoshopping) can be done by the camera these days so I don't know if it can be called post processing or not.
Gromit

I was simply pointing out that there was a number of winners.
Brilliant Photos Gromit !!
