Any one else been watching it? I really like its gentle humour, myself. Have to wait a year now.

I'm really pleased they've commissioned another series - I thought it was brilliant - very funny and marvellously acted!

^ Agree with all that. Loved the ending tonight.
i really tried as the cast was amazing but i couldn't get there.
I hardly watch any telly but, since I've just invested in a new set (all of £99, from Asda) I thought that I'd give it a go tonight. (Yes, I realise that it was the end of the series but I thought that I'd at least find out whether it would be worth watching the inevitable repeats that are bound to be on at a later date).

Unfortunately it didn't really 'grab me', and I found very little humour in it, but I might still give it another try sometime. (i.e. at least it wasn't totally unwatchable like, say, the totally dire 'Not Going Out')

yep, we're all different, thank goodness. I've just had a look at the top 20 rated programmes. Any one of them would feel like torture for me to watch. ;)
I too thought it was spiffing but I havn't managed to see every episode.
Mr Q and I really enjoyed it. Great stuff!
Good grief...we agree about something, Svejk! I loved the preview comments in The Times yesterday about the series. Here's just the opening few sentences:
"It's hard to describe why this series has been such a delight. It is, after all, a comedy that isn't funny and a drama that isn't dramatic. It's the gentlest of gentle stories about friendship at its most undemonstrative and eccentricity at its least self-conscious..."
It goes on in that vein, but that gives a flavour. I loved the thing from start to finish!
What channel's it on? I haven't heard of it.

I've got the 'culture' section right next to me. I shall go back and read that now. So there's 2 things we seem to have in common.

It finished last night, Ludwig. New series next autumn.
Oh thanks. That explains why I've missed it. I'm out most Thursdays.
My apologies, Svejk, for expressing things in the way I did. The Times quote was not from yesterday's actual paper but from last weekend's Saturday Review. I keep that, because it contains the week's TV schedules and was where the material came from.

QM, what are you apologising for? I presumed you meant the TV listings in the Sunday Times Culture mag. Where it has a different but equally 'glowing' write-up.
That's why I said we had 2 things in common. (at least)
I apologised because I don't take The Times every day, but only on Saturdays. That's because I need access to The Listener crossword, published therein, and - since my wife and I do an ordinary Times crossword from books every evening after dinner - the only daily Times crossword of the week from the actual paper.
Accordingly, when you referred to the 'Culture' section, I had no idea on which day that appeared, so just assumed it accompanied the issue for the day I referred to. It doesn't, I now see, so I apologised, thinking I might cause you to look in a place where you would, in fact, not find it!
Seemed to me like the polite thing to do, but what the hey...I'm glad to hear there is more than one view we share!

I like to do the Times crossword, on Sunday, while I'm waiting for my egg to boil. (soft egg) ;o)
It is a bit of a doddle, I agree!
