How Do I Complain?

So I need to officially complain to ITV but not sure how.

Basically ITV has just ruined our Saturday night entertainment, because they broadcast rugby from 7.15pm until 10.35pm, in fact its still running as I type this.

How on earth is broadcasting rugby which no one in my family can stand allowed to ruin prime time tele like Britain's got talent etc.

We basically have been stuck watching dvds.

Is this justified when they could just put rugby on another channel. My point is does it need to disrupt prime time Saturday night tele?

My point is being totally lost here isn't it?

Lets put it this way, certain shows/programs suite a particular day and time slot, why else are these shows made?

Rugby or Football is more catered for a Saturday afternoon audience in my opinion.

You wouldn't broadcast BGT or The masked singer on a week day for example. Its a family Saturday night type of thing.

Its obvious I hate rugby or football, but even if I did, I wouldn't subject my family to it on a Saturday night, I would feel guilty, or get moaned at. It's just how it is.

The TV schedule does not revolve around you.

He began with The.....

I'm not suggesting the tv schedule revolves around me, but theres a time and place for everything. Rugby certainly isn't family entertainment for a Saturday night. And shouldn't be.

Well at least you've put a bit of humour into this thread. I was getting fed up with everyone attacking Quenched. To be fair there have already been around a thousand complaints so far.

Many families love rugby.

19:18 it's 1 week out of 52, suck it up.

19:18 your point is not lost but it's a minor thing that you can work around 1 week in 52.

The scheduling of the Six Nations Rugby matches isn't up to ITV (or any other broadcaster).  It's determined by the competition organisers, who want to maximise their income from the broadcasting rights.  So they put matches on at those times when the ITV, S4C, RTÉ, RAI and France TV are able to pay the most, which will be when their advertisers will pay them the most for the air time.

In your place I would a) Write to my MP & b) Start an online petition to try to have the matter debated in Parliament.

It's just beypond the pale what the these TV companies inflict upon us! 😈

andres,

Thank you, I was beginning to think I was alone with this.

Quenched,You are definitely not alone .

If you do get in touch could you ask them to block the water aid advert, its doing my head in. Its got to a point now that i no longer mute it, i turn the tv off because i now know how long its on before switching back on.

nicebloke1,

I agree, but the ad I would definitely ban is the On the beach advert. Mainly because they have made a mockery of the Christmas song its the most wonderful time of the year, yet are using it all year round to promote booking holidays via On the beach.

I was always told by my parents that playing Christmas songs out of season brings bad luck with no reason.

"You wouldn't broadcast BGT or The masked singer on a week day for example."

I wouldn't broadcast either at all - ever.

"Its a family Saturday night type of thing."

That's why I try to make sure I'm out on Saturday nights. If I'm in and I want to watch the telly I try to make sure I've got something that suits me recorded - some rugby, perhaps.  😂

It's a great game to watch half-*** and even better when results go to form. 😄

'Family entertainment' these days suggests a limited attention span and no taste.

Sounds like 'hissed'.

New Judge,

So you would rather abandon your family and go out on a Saturday night just avoid watching the tele?
