LOL your not wrong there, don`t you find it strange how they all seem to go on about helping out the community. I`m not saying that people don`t these days but its as if they already have an idea who they are

I totally agree. Theres no way that they walk into a hairdressers and say 'can i talk to you about your life', then get invited down the pub to play bingo, get invited to dinner and find out all about them in a couple of days. i grew up on a small estate and i could spend 50grand better than they do on helping the community as they put it.

I agreed with the shelter place they gave to as it touched his son quite deeply but the other two places were an odd choice. in theory the old biddies were churchgoers who wanted to help people but in irony they didnt help others by buying a minibus for them to go and watch fireworks. quite odd, as it was just the helpers and the womans husband driving ! haha... oh i did laugh

No I thought they had a good head on their shoulders, a mini bus was a great idea, money spent very well. :-)

yeah spent on themselves ! They struggled between buying 49p and 39p carrots and yet brought a mini bus to be able to leave the very community place that Paul wanted to help them with
I thought the hairdresser lady wouldve made more money by opening a Tattoo Salon? And if looks couldve killed when he walked into that pub..............Jesus.
See ya.... wouldnt wanna be ya lol
Meant to ask................do you think the Millionairres get paid to do this programme
I might be a cynic but,the money given away was a miniscule fraction of their vast fortune, probably compensated for by the fee they receive for programme,in other words, it costs them nothing. I could be wrong though.

i think your right everhelpful. these people dont get to be millionaires but giving money away. they are normally very tight and shrewd.

It was so they could enjoy going out. It helped them and they all seemed happy. :-)
Yeh and did you notice the hairdresser lady said "well with the money i've only managed to take on one other lady" yet if you looked begined her the minging chavvy hairdressers had been converted into a plush expensive looking gaff??? Wonder where that money went! Seriously tho, it made me bawl like a child, it was a fab program.
people in the community befriend these millionaires because they have a camera crew with them - of course a random person wouldn't get that kind of welcome.

i would also think that we only see a fraction of the people they actually approach, otherwise the show would be hours long
Selfish sods! They essentially spent the money on themselves not on the people the money was supposed to be helping.

Call me cynical but i am almost positive the 30 grand was stumped up by the production comapny anyway and even if these people did put the money up themselves it is tax deductable.

The son was gushing saying "I really dont want leave - it has changed my life" yet he bloomin didnt stay did he - he ******** off back to his big house.

The millionaire actually seemed like a nice fella but i find the whole idea of the programme amazingly patronising and manipulative.

These type of programmes are heavily staged and as someone else said i doubt he would have been accepted so easliy in the community if he didnt have a film crew with him and researchers hadnt set up everything before hand anyway!

If these millionaires cared so much they should give up significant parts of their wealth, except the relatively tiny amount they do do, to a charity that will spend the money wisely (not on a bloody minibus and a makeover of the salon!).

And another thing! The bloomin government should be funding that homeless hostel not silly rich kids.
See my post, gary baldy, couldn't agree with you more, especially last bit about the Government.
Could've been worse - now here come the lunch ladies in their new Audi TT - room for a small one in the back!!!
Although i did say that they had given the hairdressers a makeover instead of employing more kids, i think the programme was fabulous and is a great idea. I agree that it should be the government shelling out with the bickets of money we give them every month but the point is, they dont, so the fact that this show is, is fantastic. It made good entertainment too because i thoroughly enjoyed it and loved watching the son and his dad bond. I think we can sometimes be too cynical, it was a lovely show!
I laughed out loud when i saw that...

But, it must be said, previous episodes have really touched me, and even in this one the grant to the shelter seemed to have gone to the right place.
