Stephen looks too young, and he hasn't quite mastered the menacing stare yet. Instead of looking menacing he looks like he is drooling in a trance.

Yes, a baby would look scary if born looking like him, but he has this weird baby feature thing going on which doesn't quie work on a grown man who is supposed to be 'ard.

That's so true, I forgot about that. I think this is why Eastenders can get so false, because they manipulate characters for the sake of storylines instead of things happening to the characters under normal timelines. Remember Nana Moon? She was wheeled in to 'enders simply for the Altzheimers storyline.
