I really enjoy these series, but what actually does the winner receive apart from a trophy?

Do they get a job with a hotel or restaurant as you never see them again after the final, and there must be thousands of trainee chefs around the country who have much more experience than them.

One of the previous winners (Thomasina?) is a chef & contestants were sent to her restaurant in one episode.

I hope the tall one (not the young one) wins.

That Thomasina also appeared on a TV programme about food in the wild. Masterchef didn't do her any harm!

I think they are all very good. I remember thinking when Andy was on before, that they should have picked him to go through. I don't mind which one wins, they have all tried so hard and are very talented.
