Leaving SKY+HD ?
I am not in work and can no longer afford my SKY+HD package, so I have cancelled. I'm not terribly worried as I only signed up because the old analogue signal was being switched off and I wasn't sure what kind of signal I would get on my roof-top ariel if I didn't go "digital" I found that the vast majority of the SKY output was juvenile and/or rubbish, with endless repeats of The Good Life, etc. SKY is going to end on March 3rd.
What I want to know is, will I still be able to receive channels through my dish, if I don't pay SKY any more money ?
I understand that the record facility of the SKY + will end but I have heard that I will still get something. If, as I expect, these will be the free-to-air, where can I get a definitive list of these channels ? And is Freesat the same as Freeview ?
I would 'phone up SKy to ask this question but the Customer Service line is appalling. I'm sure that we would all be speaking German by now if the Gestapo had been able to use the Sky Hlep Line torture !

Many thanks...I have just come off the phone to SKY and managed to talk to somebody called Ken, who was terribly helpful ( unusual for SKY ! )
He said that on my switch-off day, I would still get loads of channels, like BBC 1, BBC 2, etc. I wouldn't get most of the rubbish programs that I don't watch now so no loss there. The + feature won't work and neither will the HD (HD being the biggest con in recent history...hardly any difference to SD )
So I will save £29.99 a month, which I will use to pay the gas/electric bill instead !
Happy days !
