New Battery????
7 Answers
Seems obviouse but second opinion needed please.....Vauxhall Corsa cdti 2005.....Starting problems in winter but fine in the summer....Second year in a row the car turns over but takes sometime to start, fine in the summer.I connected jump leads to it from another car for a boost and it started first time so can this be down to a battery fault ie not powerfull enough etc????

This car was subjected to a recall notice for the starter motor to be replaced. Was yours replaced? If not, or if you aren't sure, check with your dealer or the Vauxhall/ Opel website.

I think you will find that all diesel cars take longer to start in the winter. Mine certainly does, the oil gets much thicker, also the glow plugs take a little longer to heat up,try charging the battery on a slow charge overnight, check in a few days tIme to see if it has lost any of the charge. Last resort go to local garage and ask them to check it for you they can tell if the battery is on the way out, I.e. not holding charge, dead cells in the battery etc etc , worth checking out before paying out.
