I would say No, definitely not. Others will be along shortly to explain why I'm sure.
Has the fan belt snapped? is the car overheating? Has your battery gone flat? there could be a wire off your alternator>
You will need to take it for a diagnostics test.

Absolutely nothing wrong with it when driving only thing I noticed when I restarted the engine the clock had reset
Needs looking at asap .. preferably before MOT .. because it might affect it.
Has the car given you trouble starting Rhoda?

Only started it once since I noticed the light and it started no problems
The MIL light could be on for a number of reasons .. a big number.
If there are no other lights on, get it looked at preferably before MOT.
My warning light came on....a few days later my cam belt snapped while I was driving causing 3k worth of damage...
Mine's been on for about 6 weeks. No-one knows why and its kept going.

(Rhoda - get it looked at, I think mine is just an aberration).
That's the head and valves smashed then!
Wouldn't normally get a light before a belt fail .. what car was that?
it's called a warning light because it is exactly that -a light to warn you something is not right - of course you have the choice to ignore it.
It was an Astra.....Vauxhall paid for the repairs as it had only done 18k miles.

I think they mentioned roller heads? and a cracked engine? It was yonks ago now...
I try not ignore warning lights at all now, not since a couple of decades back when one came on and I decided to check it out at my destination. Didn't make it.

Stop, check what the manual says. If not clear it is ok to use, then call your recovery service to come and check, or advise over the phone.
