The missus was tired of her car and wanted a fresh one for the sake of it. I said NO, there's naff all wrong with what we have now, that will do. I was abroad on business when she called me saying there was a nice Fiesta that a friend was selling. I said "do nothing until I get home".

When I got home, the question was "what has happened to the good red one and why is there a green one in it's place?"

Well the green one went in for the test and the only thing it passed for was headlight alignment. Everything else on this car was broken or worn to excess.

Apparently this is all my fault. Perhaps a woman can enlighten me as to how one can come to such a ludicrous assumption.

Never buy a greenc car. They are unlucky they have more accidents than othr coour cars.
It is obviously your fault. You went away and left her to her own devices!
I think that you know that it is your fault - after any period of marriage men must accept such illogic as being totally logical to us females.

Personally I would have kept the red one and maybe bought a nice blue or purple one - not green. Do they do cars in a pretty pink colour?
Of course it's your fault.
A bachelor is a man who never makes the same mistake once.
I don't understand how it's your fault either, and this is from a woman - I would never buy a car without getting the thing checked out first.
It's an unspoken rule. It's always the mans fault :-)
Funny that, ummm, how come whatever it is is often my fault, then? :-)
I'm sorry but this really made me laugh. She totally disregarded everything you said and it's now your fault.
It's just the sort of thing I'd do. It makes sense to me.
Maybe Nibble was a woman in a previous life!
Of course it's your fault. You went abroad on business and left her to her own devices.
with friends like that she doesnt need enemies
It's your fault because you haven't educated her about cars - especially about never buy a green car.
SpikeyBush, as well you know that on planet woman, everything is our fault.
There is an oxymoron lurking in the original post "nice Fiesta" ... fails to compute ...
I had a green car for 10 years and not so much as a scratch. It was lovely, a jimney, but the dogs grew out of it.
It was your fault because when she first said she wanted a new car, you should have said yes, then you would have been there while she was choosing it and she wouldn't have ended up with a pile of poo. be duly ashamed of yourself and buy your wife a decent car.
Seems it was the wife that needed changing and not the car
There seems to be a broad consensus on here that you shouldn't buy a green car.

Oh, and Tonyav - nice avatar.
Even I have never bought a green car...............
Yes but you've bought a plastic one!
Must admit, the only car Mrs Z had broken into was green.
