In 2002 we bought our VW Cabrio in Austria as it was a bit cheaper. This year while we were in Spain we came back to a completely flat battery. Problem is, my wife cannot find the code to unlock the car radio after putting in the new battery. (She didn't put the battery in herself!) Any ideas where we can get the code? Baffled Bramleyboy!

You will probably have to get it from VW through a Main Dealer, that's the normal proceedure for the majority of manufacturers.
Hi there: Any VW dealership should be able to help ... they couple up the Vin number (probably located around the base of the windscreen) and read off the factory register for the vehicle to reveal the radio code ... this should be a 'no cost' item ... just speak nicely to the workshop manager!
and when you get it store it in your cell-phone (both of you). Bits of paper get misplaced, two cellphones won't.
vw main dealer charge is £30 for code
unless your name is murraymints and you flush them down the toilet......

VW dealers - unless tonyav has any ideas - he's the man around here with lots of car knowledge.

Probably too late now but, the radio code was printed on all my receipts when my Renault was serviced by a main dealer. Maybe VW do the same.
Indeed Methyl. You can get a pretty decent radio/CD player for change out of £50 and keep your eyes peeled for Aldi's specials, they have some fantastic car stereos at unbelievable prices every now and then.
