when it's standing on the drive?

My neighbours' cars don't steam up but mine is absolutely dripping when I get in it. Why?

Frequently, daily, Shoota. She will always find a place to paddle.
That is probably the source of a large portion of the water in your car.
For the sake of the motor I would advise a day trip to the seaside or other attraction in it with the air con on and which involves an extended period on an 'A' road or motorway. This will allow the battery to re-charge and the air-con to de-humidify the interior.
If all else fails, you could try using these dessicant bags....good reviews from people with a similar problem to yours.....

Too much dogging?;-)
I know you'd cope, Shoota.....and given that Tilly and I are both refined ladies....you'd have no trouble.... ;-)...x

So, it's all Tilly's fault. Bless her.
I don't mind a bit of trouble occasionally....
take her to see gness, she loves dogs.
Just seen this Tilly, Open the Bonnet, the coolant is in the Plastic Clear Bottle, It should be the same Height level as the Rad with 2 Level Lines on the side, on the right hand side of the engine, "DO NOT OPEN WITH THE ENGINE HOT"

Thank you, TWR. I'll have a look.
I think you just need to hold your breath whenever you are in the car.

I used to have an old car that kept steaming up but that turned out to be water getting in under the carpets and rusting the floor. But that was an old banger not a 3 year old car.

Can the local garage take a look and spot anything ?
Question Author
If all the other suggestions don't have an effect, OG, I will ask the garage to have a look at it.
What area of the UK Tilly?
Question Author
Bedfordshire, TWR.
A bit too far from me to have a look.x
Question Author
I thought so. Thanks anyway. You're a brick. :-)
Tere is another way you can check this Tilly Depending on your Age / Health, If you have a hosepipe, direct it under the car in the upright direction & look if the carpet raises, this will save you going to a garage & their costs, " Just a Thought" x

I'll try all the easier options first, TWR. :-)
It happens in my Jag and the Freelander at this time of year and it is purely down to wet dogs, wet boots and wet coats.
Tilly . . . I found this link:-

I am not saying that the Meriva or any other Vauxhall has the same problem as you or that "condensation" is widespread and current in these vehicles but there appear to be several posts (albeit older) on the subject. Given that you say your car is only 3 years old maybe you should contact your local garage who if they have a ramp/pit can at least have a look for any obvious holes in the underside. If that is ok then perhaps go back to the place you bought the car from or the nearest Vauxhall dealer. As you say you live in Bedfordshire, there appears to be a main dealer in Flitwick, Luton and one in Bedford itself.
