So, the remote central locking on my '99 206 started going a bit strange - the doors would lock and then unlock themselves when I try to lock it. I thought it was because one of the doors or boot was not shut properly. Not so. Now the car won't start. It fired up but then cut out. Plenty of petrol and was running fine yesterday. The weather was cold today but I don't think that's the problem. I think that theres something wrong with the immobiliser or the key fob. I will change the battery in the keys tommorrow to see if that does anything. Other than that I've got no ideas...

I used to have a 52-reg 307 2.0 Auto and in two years it had endless engine management/electronics faults. Got to the stage where I almost had my own seat in the local dealer's Reception area. Finally got rid when it went to full throttle, in a 40mph zone, of it's own accord. The Peuheot diagnostics computer said there was no fault, which was extremely worrying.

Think professional look-see is probably your best bet as the multi-plex wiring systems can be very tricky.......every thing ties into everything else.
Hi there sounds very familier!!!!! Just wondering did changing the battery help, or was there other problems that hindered the keys not working properly? Cheers :(
